I got an early graduation/birthday present in the form of a shiny new 15" Macbook Pro. I've been lugging around a 12" iBook albino model, and got tired of how ridiculously ugly the plain Mac hardware looks. I shopped around for a skin or something to put over the top of it that would reduce scratches, look cool, or both, but pretty much everything sucked. Every product ignored the giant glowing apple in the middle of the panel. So I had my girlfriend whip up a little something that would incorporate it into the design, and we painted it up ourselves.

What we decided on was the devil, pimped out like Hugh Hefner, offering out the apple and smoking a pipe, with Eve wrapped around his arm. Here's the finished product:

I got a cover from Invisible Shield to keep it from getting scratched up. The cover itself is plastic with some kind of aluminum coating, so we wound up using the paint that the geeks use to paint their Warhammer 40K figurines -- many thanks to our local game shop for the help there.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned it. My dad doesn't know we picked the devil design yet (other options were Newton, William Tell, or that painting of the dude in the suit with the apple for a head).
